We were heading to Palermo. I'd picked up some Italian years ago, and I wanted to actually talk to people there. I did some research on how to learn efficiently. The takeaway was simple: stop studying, start speaking. You need flashcards with a natural accent and feedback right away. And you need an algorithm that keeps you from drilling words you already know by heart. I looked at the market. No app had all of that in one place. Some treated learning like a game, others made you spend hours building decks from scratch, others had audio straight out of the '90s. So I built my own. Simple. The one I actually use. Palermo was the first. Since then, the conversations have kept coming.

The app has been through closed testing on Google Play. We're aiming to launch on Android in the next few weeks: we'll post the exact date here and email everyone on the list. iOS is on the roadmap; we'll share news when there's something concrete.
The core is free and stays free: flashcards, reviews, pronunciation, and both screen-free modes. Paid plans simply buy more AI: more generated decks and more voice synthesis. We'll publish exact pricing before launch.
